**Learning objectives**

Apply correct vocabulary in describing situations
Critically justify choices
Recognize the importance of mathematics didactics in learning when teaching mathematics
Characterize theoretical and methodological research frameworks in mathematics teaching
Identify elementary mathematical concepts to be learned by children in the context of primary education
Know different representations of mathematical knowledge to be addressed in the primary education in numerical and geometric fields, magnitudes and organization and processing of data
Analyze situations and learning activities aligned with mathematical concepts
Suggest several teaching strategies which promote concept, procedures, mathematical techniques and problem solving learnings.
Adequately exploit ICTs applied to mathematics in primary education.
Develop critical analysis, innovation, educational research and reflection on the practice.

#### Teaching methodologies (including evalution)

Teaching methodologies: exposure, debate, document analysis, individual and group work and problem solving.
Evaluation: individual portfolio (100%)
Evaluation of knowledge attained by students will be based on each student performance included in an individual portfolio that will be built during classes. Students are invited to reflect about classroom activities, pedagogical-didactical investigation papers and scientific results and should build a didactical sequence that respects guidelines standards for the exploration of Mathematics in primary school contexts, that integrates current didactical perspectives and didactical resources.#### Essential Bibliography (including ISBN)
