Learning objectives
Understand the basis of sustainability Critically analyse development and understanding societal challenges in a perspective of environmental, natural and cultural patrimony preservation Understand the importance of promoting values, attitudes and behaviour changes in order to prepare children for the exercise of a consscious, dynamic and informed ctizenship towards contemporary problematics Using theoretical knowledge to adapt pedagogical practices that promote generational equity, based on models of sustainable development Use experimentation and children's daily life situations as a process of awareness for the planet's sustainability Deepen interdisciplinary pedagogical practices bringing together science and society Position themselves in globalizing practices and reinforce the transversal character of citizenship education in the initial formation of children

1. Environmental Sciences: practices and challenges to society 1.2. The Planet at risk: reality and alternative proposals 2. Memory, patrimony and sustainability - concepts and perspectives 3. Geography - contributes for a sustainable development 4. Sustainable development - the interdisciplinary vision os Natural Sciences, History and Geography

Teaching methodologies (including evalution)

Analysis and debate of previously selected scientific papers related to different approaches of education for sustainability. theoretical presentations in order to support proposals of structured activities based in interdisciplinarity. students are evaluated individually by their participation in the classroom (25%) and by writing and presenting an interdisciplinary group work (75%)
