Learning objectives
Enables the student to take a scientific stance when faced with the complexity of communitarian intervention. Through analysis and reflection of intervention practices and models, and the solutions employed by a range of actors, the student acquires the perception and need to develop multidimensional work in their approach to communitarian intervention. Becoming aware of the need to intervene as the main actor, selecting a specific theme and methodology that should become their work and, hopefully, future intervention. 1. Observes and analyses the complexity of communitarian reality in light of the research undertaken and identifies issues of interest to develop in the research/intervention. 2. Selects a social communitarian issue relevant to the work to be developed. 3. Gather relevant data that is relevant for the work to be developed. 4. Justifies and defends the research conceptually and methodologically

Syllabus
1.Social research and reality change 2.Topical issues in social and communitarian intervention 2.1.Cross-cutting topics: Human rights, intercultural, Action-based Research, Solidary Development, Youth and Elderly, Risk Contexts... (and other topics approached in the seminars) 2.2.Analysis of intervention projects related to specific issues to be developed in the Project Work. 3.Preparation for Action-based Research: startegies and elements for the characterization of the communitarian context (development of focus theme to research and specific methodological preparation).

Teaching methodologies (including evalution)

Presentation; Debate; Analysis of Documents; Individual Work; , Group Work; Project; Thematic Seminars -Thematic seminars related to contemporary issues in communitarian interventiaon -Debate and analysis of communitarian intervention projects (forums, debates, presentations...). -Support to exploratory research work. -Tutorial guidance in person and remote (Moodle, e.mail). -Debate and discussion about the exploratory work undertaken by the student. Evaluation: 70% (written work conducted about the communitarian intervention topics developed in the U.C and its relation to the individual research draft to be developed in the Project Work ) + 30% (presentation, discussion e defence of the above)
