Learning objectives
Understand the concept polysemy violence; Develop a critical thinking about the violence in the contemporary world; Meet the fundamental concepts and different approaches in respect of each of the topics; Meet various types of violence in current societies; Identify potential contexts of violence in communities; Use theoretical-methodological tools for the understanding and application of prevenção/ intervention programs targeted to different problems in analysis from the perspective of community involvement
Syllabus
1. multidisciplinary Approach to the concept of violence from various scientific areas
2. Phenomenology of violence
2.1. Aggressiveness and lack of violence
2.2. Mediatisation and geography of the phenomena of violence than self-inflicted violence, interpersonal and collective
2.3. Type, nature, mediation/impact and costs of violence
2.4. moral Problems in the context of social and political value
3. Practices and projects of intervention-prevention of violence
3.1. Ill-treatment of children and young people
3.2. Domestic violence/spousal
3.3. Violence in schools
3.4. collective urban space violence
3.5. Violence in dating
3.6. The intervention of the offices of support for victims and perpetrators
4. The role of education and community involvement
4.1. Community assistance - primary prevention and intervention in the community
4.2. Complexity of the intervention in terms of the roles (victims and perpetrators) and the impact
4.3. Violence can be prevented-overcome?
Teaching methodologies (including evalution)
The active teaching methodologies shall facilitate moments of Dialogic confrontation likely to be analyzed critically, to the extent that the student is challenged to distance themselves from their cultural context and for emotional, descentrando, promote the autonomy and interdependence of Victimology. The interpersonal relationship which will be established will engage the assertive communication and cooperative work in violent contexts of complexity, uncertainty and unpredictability. Some tested experimental sessions aim to highlight the ability of students to find others to achieve personal goals and concrete institutional and contemporaries. The written work will allow to evaluate the degree of ownership of the concepts of these social problems and designing proposals for prevention
1st-Group work: oral and written presentation of a violence - 60%
2nd-Individual work: written reflection on a program of preventing or overcoming violence: 40%Essential Bibliography (including ISBN)
