Learning objectives
To question, proactively, the policies, the laws and the forms of organization and management of the school, as well as the development of inclusive educational practices. To identify, discuss and propose ways to strengthen the organization of educational differentiated responses and respective implications. To identify changes in how society conceptualizes/ed and organizes/ed the response models and the attitudes forward the person with educational needs. To understand the different models of organizational and relational leadership. To deepen the specific knowledge of the actual laws and policy recommendations, national and international, analysing the effectiveness of the measures.

Syllabus
1- Legislation that is based on the structure and management of the Portuguese educational system. 2- Historical Perspective of attitudes and forms of assistance to the person with disability: the separation and annihilation to inclusion 3- Conceptual Approach (exclusion, integration, inclusion, special education, educational support, specialized educational support, curricular construction of the differentiation, environment "the least restrictive") 4- Special Education legislation: clarification of concepts, scope and objectives, current models of organisation and management, work instruments, diachronic process vision, skills/responsibilities assigned. Identification of "points to improve". Study of the Declaration of Salamanca and European policies in S.E. 5- CIF, supporting the eligibility of cases: principles, structure, team work. 6- Special Education and educational community: the inclusion, citizenship, knowledge and cooperation. Inclusive school, or just school?

Teaching methodologies (including evalution)

Lectures with and without audiovisual support, discussion of situations and specific cases, text analysis, group work followed by presentation. The evaluation involves an individual written work (75%) and an group oral presentation (25%).
