Syllabus
1. Language, Natural Language, variation and linguistic normalization Language and Natural Language(s)/Properties of the verbal Language/Knowledge and use of Natural Language/Linguistic variation/Linguistic normalization 2. Grammar. Grammar as a device to regulate linguistic behaviour/Grammar as a description of the natural language knowledge/The organization of the grammar and domains of linguistic analysis: Lexicon and morphology, syntax, phonology, semantic and speech pragmatic 3. Lexicon, morphology and semantic What we know when we know a word/Word and its constituents/Flexional and derivational morphology/The formation process of new words 4. The syntax Intuitions about the structure of the combinations of words/Constituents and constituents´ identification exams. Their representation/Syntactical functions and concordance processes/Simple and complex sentences/Complex sentences properties' formed by coordination and subordination 5. Punctuation

Teaching methodologies (including evalution)

Each program´s component will contemplate theoretical classes, mainly descriptive in nature, that constitute the origin of the theoretical-practical classes used as a space for analysis, the commentary of support texts and the correction of worksheets. Also foreseen are classes with a laboratorial character that will solve and correct exercises and experiments by handling linguistic data, under the teacher´s guidance, with the goal of developing relevant competences. The learning evaluation in this discipline will be ruled by the arranged in Rules for the Evaluation of the Higher School of Education of Paula Frassinetti. The continuous evaluation will consider, besides the aspects of formative evaluation, the following elements of the summative one: 2 written tests (100%: 50%+50%)
