Learning objectives
Reflect and deepen knowledge about contemporary trends in the arts, communication and current culture
- To provide an understanding of issues related to creation, appreciation and critical reflection in the field of contemporary art and culture, establishing a qualified intervention in educational practices
- Understand the function of the viewer as operator and co-author of the artistic work
- Understanding art in the context of society and current culture
- To explore the ways in which contemporary art relates to the work, to the spectator, to the technical devices and to the space in which it enters
- Promote an integrated view of culture and the arts in its relationship with Education

Teaching methodologies (including evalution)
The teaching methodology adopted for this curricular unit comprehend the theoretical exposition of the subjects of the program, accompanied by the analysis and discussion of specific texts of its scientific area (and mentioned in the bibliography). Educational resources will also be adopted as audiovisual objects and documentaries on contemporary art and artists, study visits to art spaces, viewing of shows, as well as the approach of examples and paradigmatic case studies of the problems that artistic and cultural activity arouses within disciplinary field and in education. These subjects will be approached in theoretical and theoretical-practical classes. Discussion and group work will also be part of the methodologies used. Assessment methods and respective assessment: Practical theoretical work (80% of the final evaluation) and oral presentation (20% of the final evaluation) will be elaborated.
