Learning objectives
Identify the General characteristics of aging in the biological, cognitive and social aspects and integrates them in the developmental perspective of human beings throughout the life cycle Evaluates the elderly person, functionally and cognitively, through appropriate instruments Identify and intervene appropriately in the events of life linked to old age Know and mobilizes methodologies and techniques in the sense of promoting the welfare of the adult and the elderly. The licensed in Social education will be fundamentally of demonstar ability of solving problems relating to their area of intervention. In this sense, the accuracy of identification and evaluation of senility «-» senescence will be an essential criterion for the record the gravity of the problem concerned. In turn, the ability to critically select relevant information knowing substantiate, argue, justify and apply the options, provide and facilitate the licensee in Social education indispensable autonomy

Teaching methodologies (including evalution)

Oral exposure will be used; the professoraluno dialogue, leading to reflection and exploration of concepts; critical reflection of articles; individual and group works on topics defined; and thematic presentation followed by discussion for construction of knowledge. In individual work, will be an oral presentation and written essay; in the test, will be consolidated knowledge presented in the individual works; in group work will be presented cases demenciais and palliative care. Individual work: 30%; Test: 40%; Group project: 30%.
